Thinking about running brought my memories back to a time when we visited the Baltimore Aquarium for our 2 month "dating anniversary." The day went perfectly...even better than I had imagined. On the way home, traffic was definitely a little heavier, and about an hour into the drive I realized that I lost my phone. I searched the car, half frantically/half wanted to appear collected, but the phone wasn't anywhere in site. Kyle (my boyfriend) asked "What's wrong?" while I tried to pretend that I didn't need the phone and claimed that "you can just keep going, I don't need the phone...I'll just buy another one." But, Kyle calmly and so lovingly just kept affirming me that it wasn't a big deal to go back and get it. I knew the traffic would, by now, be a lot heavier, and the chances of me getting my phone back might only be 50%. During the whole ordeal, not once did Kyle ever yell, or even raise his voice at me for the hassle that my lost phone had brought. In fact, it made the day even more fun simply by being able to be with him for a longer amount of time. His patience was something that, if the roles were reversed, I probably would not have had.
I am so grateful for Kyle....he honestly reveals more and more Christ-like characteristics as I spend more time with him. I am so thankful that God brought an amazing man like him into my life! As we celebrate our three month anniversary tomorrow, I can only hope I don't cause the same amount of disfunction as I did before. :)
